Tent Caterpillars

In preparation for possible spraying for Forest Tent Caterpillars, the LMKP LID again asks that you and your neighbors keep a lookout for any evidence of Forest Tent Caterpillar larvae this spring - examples can be seen here. Note the larvae normally emerge in early to mid-May.

If you see any signs of the Forest Tent Caterpillar please contact Joan Covington – [email protected] so she can coordinate a visual inspection. If the LMKP LID determines spraying is warranted, they will contract again with West Central Ag Air to apply the spray from the air.

DNR permit rules require a 24 hour notice to our members before aerial spraying. The LID prepared roadside signs that will be set out to serve as this notice.

Board Members Needed

The LMKP LID board is comprised of 9 members, each with three-year terms. Per the LMKP LID bylaws, a member may serve two consecutive terms. One of our current members will be completing their second term after our annual meeting on July 11^th. If you are interested in serving on the LMKP LID board, please feel free to contact me or send an email to [email protected] before May 5^th so the nominations committee can prepare the election ballot.
